Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software versions 18.0 and 18.1, you may see this error without any other additional messages:

Resolution

This is a known problem in Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 18.0 and 18.1

This is fixed in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software 18.1.1 and later
