No. The Word Aligner in Stratix® IV GX ALTGX™ Basic mode does not require continuous word alignment pattern (K28.5-) to reach sync state, when the built-in synchronization state machine is used. The word alignment pattern within an ordered set will work. The synchronization state will be reached when the word alignment pattern set has been received.
