Device family mismatch when upgrading the device for your IP core

Description

In the Quartus® II software release version 14.0, the Upgrade IP Components dialog box displays the original target device for each IP core, and indicates any mismatch with your current target device. For some IP cores, the HDL is valid for the current target device, even if the current target device does not match the original target device; in this case the Upgrade IP Components dialog box will not display a device family mismatch.

Resolution

To migrate any IP that shows a device family mismatch, create a new variation of the IP core for the target device.
