ALTMULT_COMPLEX IP core: Error (272006): MGL_INTERNAL_ERROR: Range object … of width <width> which is illegal

Description

In the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Software, you may see this error when you instantiate the ALTMULT_COMPLEX IP core in "dynamic_complex_mode," and you have different port widths for port A and port B.

The dynamic complex mode option is only available for Stratix® V devices.

Resolution

To workaround this problem, use the same widths for both ports.

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Software version 18.1
