** Error: nofile(38): in protected region Error Message in Stratix V HIP for PCI Express Simulation

Description

When you attempt to simulate the Stratix V Hard IP for PCI Express IP core, the following error message displays:

** Error: nofile(38): in protected region

This issue prevents simulation from running successfully.

Resolution

To fix this issue, add the following file to your simulation file list:

/altera/altera_pcie/altera_pcie_sv_hip_ast/alt_pcie_monitor_sv_dlhip_sim.sv

Simulation now generates warnings instead of errors, and simulation can run successfully. This issue will be fixed in a future version of the Stratix V Hard IP for PCI Express IP core.
