Reset Release IP for Agilex needs Stratix 10 device files installed!

Just ran into the problem that Quartus Prime Pro 26.1 did not find the reset release IP which internally is named:

  altera_s10_user_rst_clkgate

The reason in my case was that I had installed the Agilex 3 and 5 devices only, but not the Stratix 10. As the name of the component implies Agilex lends it from Stratix 10.

Altera please correct the dependency tables for the installation of Agilex devices to include the library altera_s10_user_rst_clkgate_1949 (and possibly others too).

    Here is the archive of my design. It is intended for demonstration purposes for TimeQuest and has no real use by the way. This is the version that I got after installing Stratix 10 device files of course, but I guess that this does not matter.
    It was not possible to attach the .qar (not accepted by the upload tool). So I zipped it in addition.

      I tried compiling the provided design and was able to compile it successfully. I’m not sure if there are any specific environment details or variables that could be causing this behavior.
      For now, perhaps we can monitor the situation to see if other users encounter a similar issue, and revisit this if it affects a larger number of users.

    Hi Richard,

    IP generation was no problem.

    Have you started the compilation process in Quartus after that? That's when the error occurred.

    Since I have installed the device files for Stratix 10 now I'm no longer able to reproduce the error. I don't want to invest another hour in reinstalling,...

      At which compilation stage does the error occur? I was able to generate an example design and compile it successfully.
      Could you please share your design by archiving the project (Project > Archive Project) so I can reproduce the issue on my side?

    I’ve installed Quartus Pro 26.1 with Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 device only, and I’m able to instantiate the Reset Release IP successfully.
    Could you please share the error message or a screenshot showing the issue?
    Which OS are you using?
    Are you able to instantiate the Reset Release IP after installing the Stratix 10 (S10) devices?
